About the Sacred Works Project

We will be funding creative projects that hold the intention of bringing the sacred into our world.

Some Definitions of Sacred

(Although sacred is very personal term, in the interest of clarifying what area of activity we intend to fund we will list some of our ideas of what sacred means.)

The projects we will fund will not be product-oriented, but will be based on people’s inner visions and their journey to realize the highest human potential.

We foresee funding in two different ways.

Initially, we would serve as an intermediary between those who want to give and those requesting funding. We will refer the names and projects of potential recipients to potential donors. The donors can then choose what they want to fund and contact the recipient. The donation can then be made through our non-profit to give it proper tax status. In this scenario, the details would be up to the donor and recipient, thus increasing the relevant parties' exchange and simplifying our role.

The second way of working will be to put any larger donations, intended for larger groups of people, into a trust. The interest on the trust could then be granted, on a yearly basis, to qualified applicants. If and when this situation arises, we will work out specific procedures for the application and decision making process.

Leadership

We will form a board that will be responsible for necessary decisions and, specifically, will review applications for donations and decide funding amounts. Jessie Thompson will be our first Executive director whose job it will be to find donors and sacred pilgrims and get the show running.

It is our hope that there will be enough interest in this to create a trust that will benefit generations to come. It is also our hope that the funding process remain personal and that the exchange remain mutual.
